M. Stanley Oil Painting on Canvas of Gothic Cathedral Interior
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas by artist M. Stanley. The piece depicts the interior of a Gothic European cathedral with arched windows and Corinthian columns, rendered in a palette of brown, yellow, red and green hues. The work is signed ‘M. Stanley’ in brown paint to the lower right. It is presented without glass in a black and gold tone wooden frame with ornate moulded foliate embellishments, and fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- minor edge wear and scuffing to frame; notable dirt and accretion to surface of frame; no backing paper present.
