An oil painting on canvas titled Cades Cove in Winter by Bill Fletcher (American, b. 1958). Depicted is Cades Cove, located in an isolated valley in the Tennessee section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, USA. A snow covered mountain top rises above the scene with cascading hills leading to an opening in a snow covered field. Signed to the lower left, ‘Fletcher.’ Presented in a reeded, art nouveau style gilt and gesso wood frame.

Influenced by his love of the land and lifetime love of art, Fletcher is known for his masterful landscapes and rich still life compositions. The Kentucky native received his artistic training from a plethora of exceptional teachers as a young man acquiring the essential building blocks for drafting. Fletcher eventually went on to study toxicology, making time for his art whenever possible. In 1996 he began painting in oils, taking lessons from local workshops and other artists. His work has been featured in Southwest Art, International Artist, and Keeneland Magazine.
