A Lenox ‘Happy Birthday Express’ porcelain train and music box chest. This lot features nine separate works of porcelain children’s items. The four cars of the train are filled with porcelain children’s toys, and these numbered cars of one to four are accented with gilt trim. The ‘Happy Birthday’ steam engine has a giraffe engineer and the coal car is filled with packages. The cars can be separated; the gilt-trimmed wheels do not rotate. The base of ‘4’ is marked in gilt lettering ‘The Happy Birthday Express – Fabulous Four – Lenox – Handcrafted in China’. The music box trunk marked ‘Toys’ is filled with children’s favorites such as a bunny, a carousel horse, a sailboat and more, and is marked to the base ‘Childhood Treasures – Lenox – Handcrafted in China’. The collection also includes a porcelain puppy wrapped in a gift bag, and a floral and butterfly display; the puppy is marked ‘Winter Darling – Lenox – Handcrafted in China’.
