Itzchak Tarkay Limited Edition Serigraph "Waiting"
Item Details
By Hand
A limited edition serigraph by very well-listed Israeli artist Itzchak Tarkay (1935 – 2012), titled Waiting. The image depicts a seated woman in a colorful abstract interior. The print is signed to the lower right and is numbered 294/750 to the lower left. It is mounted under acrylic glass with blue and white layered mats in a textured gesso on wood frame with a reddish brown and gilt finish and is wired for hanging.
Born on the Yugoslavia-Hungary border, Tarkay’s family was forced into Mauthausen Concentration Camp in 1944 and freed a year later by the Allied forces. Tarkay went on to travel the world, creating a following for his distinct style. He says that he paints by instinct, and can no further explain his use of color as he can his own handwriting.
