An oil painting on canvas titled Winter Night by listed artist Mel Bradshaw (Arizona/Colorado; 20/21st century). The work depicts a pair of cowboys riding through a frozen landscape at night. One lights a cigarette close to his face, illuminating his features against the night sky. Artist’s signature to lower left corner along with year of creation. Informative plaque to lower margin of frame. Piece is presented without glass in a wooden frame with faux leather insert and wire hanger to the verso.
Western painter Mel Bradshaw was born in Durango, Colorado and has spent most of his life in the American West. Currently the artist resides with his wife in Arizona and continues to produce genre paintings based on his first hand experiences of the landscape and lifestyle of his youth. Bradshaw’s paintings are displayed in several private collections and magazine publications including Old West and Western Horseman.
