An oil painting on canvas after an a painting by Édouard Manet titled Boy with Cherries. This work depicts a young boy rendered against a dark red background. He clutches a group of cherries between his hands and smiles brightly. This work is signed ‘ed. Manet’ to the lower right corner. This work is presented without glass in a gilt tone frame and white linen liner. Hanging hardware is present to the verso.
Condition
- minor wear to the finish on the frame; dent in the canvas upper right corner; pair of parallel 1.5" and 2" long tears in canvas to boy’s hat.
