An oil painting on canvas by Samuel Roöst. This landscape painting depicts a frozen stream running through a forest in the winter, a patchy layer of snow melting on the ground and in the trees. A stone footbridge crosses the water, and the work is signed in paint to the lower left corner. It is presented with the canvas stretched over a wood panel in a wood frame with wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- discoloration around edges of painting and to varnish; wear to edges of frame; scratches present throughout frame; board loose in frame; accretion present throughout.
