Item Details

An antique oil painting on canvas of a nocturne seascape. This piece depicts rolling waves reflecting a moon in a cloudy sky, with a boulder in silhouette to the left of the composition. There is no apparent signature. The work is presented in a decorative gold tone wood and gesso frame with a running floriate pattern. It is wired to hang.

- loss to frame decoration to top left and bottom left corners of frame; discoloration to painting; craquelure throughout paint; accretion to face and verso of frame; paper residue to the verso.
