A circa 1923 oil painting on wooden board by listed Texas artist Hugo Herbeck (1923 – 2009) titled West of San Antonio, Texas. The piece depicts a rural Texas summer landscape under pale blue skies, with fields of wildflowers and green trees set against white sands and blue lake waters. The work is signed by the artist in brown paint to the lower left; it is additionally titled and dated to the frame backing by an unknown hand. It is presented without glass in a gold tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso

- minor surface wear and toning to painting; nicks and scratches to frame; frame joints are not flush; tears to frame’s backing paper.
