An oil painting on canvas titled The War Lance by Marlin Sheppard. The work depicts a warrior on horseback with a long pole arm and a desolate background in brown and tan tones. To the bottom left, the work is signed in paint. A metal plaque to attached to the front of the work with the title and artist name engraved. The painting is presented in a decorative wooden frame without glass.

- some scratches and wear to the surface of the frame; some wear to canvas fillet; to the verso, some wear and marks.
