A 1990 Cecijema Mayan temple rubbing on paper from Chichén Itzá on the Yucatán Peninsula. The piece depicts Mayan calendar imagery in a palette of teal, green and grey; it is marked with a ‘Certificate, Cecijema, Chichen Itza’ seal to the lower right. The paper is set over a blue backing and presented under glass in a white metal frame fitted with a sawtooth hanger to the verso. The frame backing includes a certificate from the Centro Cibernetico de Jeroglificos Mayas with further information about the piece.
Condition
- slight toning and discoloration to paper; minor wear and scratches to frame; scratches and dents to verso; discoloration to attached certificate.
