An offset lithograph on paper after an original work of art Lakota Messenger by New Mexico artist Frank Howell (1934-1997). This poster depicts a figure in profile wearing a brown robe with an outstretched arm. A blackbird with it’s midsection wrapped in red is perched on the figure’s arm while three blackbirds, similarly wrapped in red, are perched on the figure’s shoulder. A cascade of red droplets fall from the birds in the lower left corner of the composition. The artist’s name is printed in orange to the top of the composition. The print is bordered in deep blue, behind glass, and in a beveled blue composite frame. The verso of this piece is equipped to hang.
