Ricardo Morin Watercolor Painting on Paper

Item Details

A watercolor and ink composition on paper by listed American/Venezualan artist Ricardo Morin (b. 1954), created in 2005. This work depicts an abstract composition rendered with vibrant splashes of orange, violet, yellow, and green overlapping with geometric black and white delineations, which generate a contrasting balance between organic and trigonometrical lines. It is signed and dated in ink to the lower right corner. This work is unframed, awaiting presentation of choice.

Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. at the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that exhibit a combination of linear delineation and fluidity. For more information about the artist, see the link below.
