Item Details

An early 20th century Arts and Crafts oak smoking stand by the H.T. Cushman Mfg. Co. The frame features a square top with a circular, ashtray cutout surrounded by two brass tone, cigar rests and a lighter receptacle. Directly below is an open shelf flanked by a pair of three-hole, pipe racks over a metal-lined, humidor cabinet and an accessory storage drawer. The fronts are fitted with brass tone hardware and the stand rises on square legs centered by an arched skirt. Applied to the drawer bottom is a paper label with ‘instructions for lighter’ marked ‘The H.T. Cushman Mfg. Co., N. Bennington, VT.’

Condition

- some surface wear and imperfections to frame as would be expected with age, including a minor board/joint separation beginning at right pipe rack; some small moisture and ring stains to top and to shelf; missing one of the top mounts; missing part of the lighter mount (only the receptacle is present); one cigar rest is bent; all three mounts with tarnishing and cigar rests with minor oxidation spots; humidor lining with finish losses; no key.
