An original watercolor painting on paper of an historical street scene by listed American artist Richard Gabriel Chase (1919 – 2007). The detailed painting features a large imposing building, flying the American flag. It is surrounded by busy dirt streets filled with horse-drawn carriages and pedestrians. The work is signed in graphite to the lower right margin, hidden by the framing. Presented behind a white mat with a black liner, under glass, in a gold tone and dark brown wood frame. A hanging wire is present to the verso.
Condition
- vertical fold crease down center of painting. Small tears and creases to paper edges. Minor wear to frame finish. Signature is hidden by framing.
