A Marzi & Remy Rumtopf. This blue and white lidded ceramic crock is marked ‘Rumtopf’ on the front, and a recipe, in German, is included on the back. Depictions of fruit fill the space surrounding the text. The bottom of the cannister is impressed with a maker’s mark and the style number 3041/7. Rumtopf is a fruit, sugar, and rum mixture left to sit for several week with additions of the fruit throughout that time, resulting in a preserve mixture for spooning over deserts.
