Vintage Surveyor's Plane Table Alidade by Keuffel & Esser Co.
Item Details
A vintage surveyor’s plane table alidade by Keuffel & Esser Co., circa first half of the 20th century. The black metal alidade has brass and silver tone accents with a telescope, a Beaman stadia arc, an encased compass, and two bubble levels. It features a flat, rectangular backplate with a ruled edge marked ‘Keuffel & Esser Co / New York / 46793’. Also included is a brown leather case with a buckled strap and a lid, the latter of which retains a metal manufacturer’s tag.
Condition
- to fair; some minor/expected surface wear to alidade; leather case with detached lid and allover scratches, marks, and stains; leather strap is beginning to crack with flaking.
