Vintage Wedgwood Jasperware Edward VIII Coronation Teapot
Item Details
A vintage Wedgwood jasperware Edward VIII Coronation teapot. The Wedgwood jasperware pottery teapot was released by Wedgwood in 1937 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII of Britain. It features an image of Edward in profile, surrounded by a wreath, with a crown above his head, and below a banner set within the wreath reading “Edward VIII 1937” all in white slip against the Wedgwood royal blue background. The opposite side of the teapot features the British royal crest with a lion and unicorn, and shield with a crown above. The lid of the teapot and area around the spout are decorated in white slip with wreathes. The underside of the teapot is white and has impressed marks reading “Wedgwood” and “Made in England.’
Condition
- cracks to some of the white slip design showing up as a separation in the slip design.
