Item Details
A pair of hand-painted Russian icons of Christian figures on wooden panel. These richly-colored pieces depict a portrait of Christ with Saint Peter and of Mary with her husband Joseph, all the figures in heavy robes and red-ringed halos. These pieces each include lines of text toward the upper edge of each and are matted together under glass in a gold tone frame with a hanging wire to its verso. There is also a type-written note of provenance to the verso noting the identities of the pictured figures.
