Arthur Chapman Illustrated Poem "Out Where the West Begins"

An illustration, attributed as using watercolor and gouache, for Arthur Chapman’s (1873-1935) 1917 poem Out Where the West Begins. The piece features a stylized view of trees and mountains, the upper edge of the illustration lined with grapevines. The poem is written to a gold tone block just off center of the piece, the poet’s name written after the last stanza. This piece is mounted behind glass in a wooden frame with a length of string to its verso for hanging.

Condition

- worn frame finish; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly.
