Book of Autographs Featuring the Rolling Stones

Item Details

A vintage autograph book with autographs from classic TV and move actors. This item includes autographs from notables such as Rolling Stones, Lynn Redgrave, Dennis James, Jinx Falkenburg, Diane McBain, and Mary Martin. Also included is a drawing of Goofy signed ‘Hi Kathleen, Roy’ by original Mouseketeer and influential Disney artist Roy Williams.

Family lore suggests that the person who obtained the autographs got them on June 6 or 7, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas, when the Stones became the first British invasion band to play in Texas. The event didn’t go well for the Stones, but the autograph obtainer got several member autographs and when she couldn’t read their signatures well asked how she would remember what band they were. One of the members took the book back and wrote ‘Rolling Stones’ on it for her. She also obtained the signatures of many other performers playing at the event.
