Antique Meriden Cutlery Co. Silver Plate and Mother of Pearl Handled Knife Set

A set of six antique silver plate and mother of pearl handled knives by Meriden Cutlery Co., active 1855-1910 out of South Meriden, CT. Each knife features a blunt silver plate blade and bolster attached to a mother of pearl handle. The bolsters are embellished with floral swag, scroll, foliate, and beaded designs in two different patterns. The blades are marked with the Meriden Cutlery Pictorial mark of ‘M, C, and Co’ in Gothic letters with the number ‘12’ underneath. They are presented in a green velvet box with satin lining.
