A mid to late 20th-century watercolor and gouache painting on paper by Japanese artist S.J. Aoki. The piece depicts a fisherman in patterned blue and red robes smiling as he pulls his catch out of rippling waters below. The work is signed in black ink to the lower right, adjacent to Japanese text and a red artist’s seal. It is matted in taupe and presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- to fair discoloration, foxing and signs of moisture damage to painted image; discoloration to matting with age; edge wear and scuffing to frame; holes and abrasions to frame’s backing.
