An oil on canvas painting by listed artist James Elder Christie (Scottish, 1847 – 1914) titled Moray. The moody landscape depicts a view of the Moray Firth and low mountains in the background in the low light of early evening. It is signed indistinctly to the lower left and more clearly to the verso. The painting is mounted in a carved wooden frame with a gilt finish and is wired for hanging.

Condition

- craquelure to the paint surface; canvas is slightly wrinkled; discoloration and wear to the frame.
