A collection of Brazilian folk art. This collection of native-Brazilian artwork includes a set of three acrylic-on-canvas paintings of children engaged in outdoor activities, each signed by the artist Wilma with the year 1980 in the lower right corner and includes a cinnamon-brown wood frame and hanging hardware on reverse; a set of two Cubist-inspired paintings on a woven wheat-colored textile, which are mounted on a thin panel of wood with a strong grain pattern, set on a cork backing, signed by the artist V. Nabais to the lower left. Also included is a hand-painted decorative ceramic plate showing a village scene, marked ‘Made in Brazil’ and ‘Painted by Hand’ in Portuguese on reverse; a set of three wooden panels, painted black with stylized reliefs depicting a church, a woman holding a basket of fruit, and a village scene in vibrant colors, signed by the artist Blanca in Rio de Janeiro with the year 1975. Also included is a hand-carved wooden relief of a vibrant village scene, marked ‘Galeria de Arte Brasileira, Sao Paolo’ on reverse; and a set of three original watercolor paintings showing a stylized depiction of villagers, each matted, behind protective glass, with a blond wood frame and hanging hardware on reverse.
