Ethan Allen Horse and Buggy Wall Decoration

A wall decoration featuring a trotting horse and driver. The ornament is possibly based on an 1867 image of the famous trotter, Ethan Allen, bred in Vermont. The piece has been finished to resemble metal and is marked on the reverse ‘Copyright MCMLXVI/Baumritter Corp./Made in USE/07-3002/Ethan Allen’. Coincidentally, Ethan Allen is the line of furniture introduced by Baumritter in 1939 and originally produced in their Vermont factory while Ethan Allen, the famous Morgan horse (and the Morgan originated in Vermont) was bred in New York.
