A Mexican ceramic animal mask. This stylized, handmade piece, possibly a bear, features a yellow head with black accents for the fur, ears, eyelashes, and other facial features. The mouth is opened to a wide-eyed grimace, displaying red gums and white sharp teeth. The mask has a string at the back for hanging. No maker marks are present.
