Vintage Cedar Chest by Edward Roos Company

Item Details

A vintage cedar chest by the Edward Roos Company, Forest Park, Illinois. It has a stained exterior with a lift-top lid which has a beveled edge and opens to a cedar-lined, open interior. The front has an applied oval in the center, with deep incised line border around it; the escutcheon is on a diamond shaped, filigreed plate, and the bottom border has a carved floral detail. It is raised on short legs with top and bottom ring turns and a center block with concentric circles. Inside it has brass hardware and a faint ERC stamp.
