Vintage French Bronze Medallion with Presentation Box

Item Details

A vintage 1873 J.B. Poquelin de Molière bronze medallion by Domard. The obverse of the medallion depicts the raised profile of a man with a mustache and long, curly hair, wearing a skull cap, and is marked ‘J.B. Poquelin De Moliere’ with ‘Douard’ below the profile. The reverse has a border of raised oak leaves and acorns, and is marked ‘Ne A Paris – 15 JANV. 1622 – Les Precieuses Ridicules 1650. Le Misanthrope 1666. – Tartuffe 1667. – Le Malade Imaginaire 1673. – Mort A Paris – 17 FEVR. 1673’. The edge of the medallion is marked ‘Bronze – France’, and ‘AMY SUMIDA 1950’. The medallion comes with a vintage presentation box lined in rose colored velveteen, with a brass tone clasp on the front.
