A signed colored pencil drawing on tan paper. The drawing depicts the portrait of a Comanchee brave named Royce Four Bows. He is wearing traditional adornments, including a head piece with shells and feathers, a choker made from bone, beads and shells, and has cloth wrapped around his braids. The subject’s name is written to the lower right and the drawing appears to be signed ‘Robe’ next to a small symbol. It is presented in a brown mat without glass, in an antiqued gold tone wood frame. A hanging wire is present to the verso.
Condition
- several minor marks to drawing and mat. Abrasions and wear to frame finish.
