An antique 1911 original Continental landscape oil painting on panel of a coastal scene by well-listed English marine painter Alfred H. Vickers (1853 – 1907). This antique painting depicts figures standing in a rural dirt road that leads to a small coastal community. Three other figures stand on the shore in the foreground of the composition. Artist signature and date are signed to the lower right. The work is presented in a gold tone wood frame with a hanging wire mounted to the verso.
Condition
- to fair; craquelure is prevalent throughout the image area; vanish has yellowed; gold tone wood frame showing nicks and scratches around the frame; corner joints do not meet evenly.
