A 1975 limited edition offset lithograph print on paper for Marshall University after a painting by listed West Virginia artist Chuck Ripper (born 1929) titled The Thundering Herd. The piece depicts a herd of bison running through golden fields against a backdrop of distant purple mountains and rainclouds. The work is signed in graphite to the lower right and numbered as 985 out of an edition of 1000. It is additionally signed and dated in plate to the lower right, titled in plate to the center and inscribed with ‘Marshall University’ in plate to the lower left. The print is matted in black and yellow and presented under glass in a black metal frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
