Hoppman Oil Painting on Canvas of Pastoral Landscape
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas by Hoppman. The piece depicts a pastoral landscape with two figures standing adjacent to a small pond and thatched-roof cottage, set against a backdrop of colorful trees, distant valleys and cloud blue skies. The work is signed in red paint to the lower right. It is presented without glass in a decorative wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- to Fair; craquelure to painting at top center; paint piles appear to have been pressed and flattened; minor nicks, wear, scuffs, accretion and scratching to frame; smudges and discoloration to verso of canvas; no backing paper is present.
