1969 "The Astronauts" Lunch Box And Thermos
Item Details
A 1969 The Astronauts lunch box and thermos. The Apollo 11 motif lunchbox features a depiction on the front of the box of one of the astronauts standing on the moon holding onto the ladder of the lunar module; a depiction on the back of the box of the astronauts being picked up by a helicopter after splashing down; and depictions on the sides of the shuttle flying through space and splashing down at the return. The inside of the lid has a ‘Safety First’ label placed next to a black and white drawing of children performing safe behaviors. Included with the lunch box is a matching Thermos depicting Buzz Aldrin saluting the American flag. The bottom of the ‘Safety First’ label is marked Aladdin Industries.
Condition
- areas of rust. Scratches and chipping to image. Safety first label has the name “Heggie” written on it. Large label affixed to the Thermos. Portion of image on Thermos worn away.
