After Jean-Honore Fragonard Painted Scenes on Ceramic Disks
Item Details
A pair of painted scenes on ceramic disks after French Rococo artist Jean-Honore Fragonard (1732-1806). These stylized pieces feature lovers picnicking and dancing in outdoor landscapes, rendered in vibrant hues with pointillism. The pieces are marked with facsimiles of Fragonard’s signature to the lower edges and presented in white and gold tone wood composite frames. Triangle hooks for hanging are affixed to the versos.
Condition
- gaps between frame and ceramics; tape to backing paper; nicks and wear to frames.
