An 18th-century oil on canvas portrait painting of a gentleman by an anonymous artist. This unsigned painting depicts a man in a white powdered wig and and bright clothing accented with a puffy white shirt seated for a portrait in front of a brown background. The painting is presented in a gold tone gesso and wood frame with a raised floral design. A wire is present to the verso for hanging purposes.
Condition
- patch to the verso; indications of inpainting; worn frame finish; minor chips and cracks to frame; craquelure throughout the painting; small dent to the lower right.
