Early 20th Century Hand Carved Tea Caddy with Tray Insert

An early 20th century hand carved tea caddy with tray insert. This piece features a carved lid with raised cupids bow handle and decorative carved, scalloped edging. The lids rest onto a carved chest base in a bombe shape with foliate carvings, scalloped apron and bracket feet. The lid opens to reveal a cushion seal, interior tray with handle and dovetail joinery, reinforced corners and partitioned panels in the lower portion of the chest. The piece and all components include a red hue stain.

- light wear, some marks, scratches; warping to the lid.
