Antique Cavalry Saddle and Tooled Western Saddle

Item Details

An antique cavalry saddle and a tooled western saddle. The cavalry saddle has been retrofitted to include a hand carved wooden pommel and horn to the front of the piece. It includes an attached scabbard to the left of the pommel and wool-stuffed suede panels to the underside. The western saddle features a stitched suede seat with tooled leather to the pommel, skirt and single fender. A single wooden stirrup is included.

Condition

- cavalry saddle was modified at some point to includes a hand carved wood pommel and horn to the front, no stirrups or fenders, torn leather to the underside, dry and cracked leather, stained suede panels to the underside; western saddle has one detached wooden stirrup included and is missing the left fender; leather is extensively worn and dry and underside is missing large areas of sheepskin, large crack noted in the resin gullet.
