Antique Chair with Needlepoint Seat

Item Details

An antique oak chair with needlepoint seat. The curved crest rail is incised with burled oak veneers over two back rails and shaped side supports. The round seat is covered with a gimp trimmed needlepoint with a flower and fruit motif. The chair rises in front on two turned legs with ball feet joined by two turned stretchers. The curved back legs extend from the stiles in a serpentine curve joined by dowel stretchers.
