US Foot Officer's Style Sword with Scabbard
Item Details
A US foot officer’s style sword with leather scabbard. Features a slightly curved and etched blade with no visible maker’s mark. The hilt is similar to the 1850 style US foot officer’s sword with a leather coiled grip and Phrygian cap pommel. The D-shaped knuckleguard terminates in a pierced and scrolled oval counterguard with a drop finial. The sword is accompanied by its leather scabbard with metal mounts.
Condition
- rust to blade; significant tarnish to metal of hilt and scabbard; wear to scabbard leather; loss of scabbard near tip, leaving the blade exposed.
