An original 20th century oil painting on board by contemporary American painter Gary Ray (California, born 1952). The painting depicts a layered landscape scene rendered in short, Impressionistic strokes. A grassy field in autumnal shades of yellow, brown, red, and orange fills the foreground, giving way to shadowy hills that eventually open to a bright and airy sky across the piece’s upper half. The painting is signed in burgundy to the lower left. It is presented in a wooden plein air frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire attached to the verso for hanging.
