A Royal Nippon hand-painted butterfly vase. The vase offers a gilded rim, short trumpet shaped neck, and an hourglass shaped body with two gilded handles. The edges of the exterior are encased in gilt work that extends from each handle, and features an intricate hand-painted floral scene with enameled butterflies in low relief. The underside is marked ‘Royal Nippon, 6/124, Rabe Mark, 36163’.

- slight wear to underside; minor wear and fading to gilt work throughout.
