Antique Ansonia Mantel Clock

An antique Ansonia mantel clock. The ornate, late nineteenth-century clock has a black ebonized wood case, with inlaid white flower motifs. The white enameled dial has an ornate pierced gold tone overlay, black Arabic numerals and black hands. The case is embellished with metal lion head escutcheons on he sides, and faux marble pillars to either side of the dial. The clock rests on ornate metal feet, and the brass movement is marked ‘Ansonia Clock Company – U.S.A. – New York – Patented June 18, 1882’.
