Vintage Chinese Lacquered Food Container

A vintage Chinese lacquered food container. The interior of the black lacquered and painted container includes seven red lacquer removable inserts for different types of food. When stored the inserts sit in the base of the container covered by the lid but when in use the lid is flipped over with the inserts placed inside the lid with the upside down lid set back on top of the larger base, creating a raised surface from which to eat or serve. Unmarked.
