A vintage hand-knotted Persian Bijar area rug. This hand-knotted wool rug has a color palette of warm brown, midnight blue, coral, rust red, cream, and pale gray. It has a hexagonal shaped central medallion with a hooked border on a rust colored hexagonal shaped lozenge patterned with a classic herati pattern. The midnight blue corners repeat the herati motif in pale coral and gray colors and the main border features a samovar pattern in earth tones with coral accents. It has natural warp fringe to either end and leather strips applied to the reverse.
