Louis Cardin Original Enamel Painting on Copper
Item Details
An original 1978 enamel on copper painting by reputed French artist Louis Cardin (born 1931). Cardin creates bright scenes of children playing using kiln-fired enamel pigments over copper, often with a loosely splattered surface texture. This scene depicts a young boy and girl standing in a wildflower patch overlooking a small body of water where a single sailboat floats. The piece is signed and dated to the lower right. It is presented in a carved wooden frame with gold tone finish, white linen lining, and a sawtooth hanger. A certificate of authenticity from the Collector’s Guild is attached to the verso. Cardin was a student of very well-listed French Cubist Andre L’ Hote (1885 – 1962).
