Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of a canal scene. This Impressionist painting depicts a rising sun casting its light over a reflective body of water, which cuts through an arched bridge and winds to the foreground where gondolas are seen docked near a cobblestone pier. To the lower right corner of the composition is an artist signature appearing to read ‘Herve Matho’. The painting is presented in an ornately moulded, gold tone wooden frame with a cream border and hanging wire to the verso.

- some minor wear visible to the frame and verso; painted residue to stretcher verso.
