An offset lithograph poster on paper designed by American artist Varnette Honeywood (1950 – 2010) for the 1990 Atlanta National Black Arts Festival. This geometrically stylized piece depicts standing men and women facing the viewer, heads turned to the left. They stand against a blue and white background wearing brightly colored suits, skirts, scarves, and blouses, and hold a trumpet, a paintbrush, a book, and a ribbon of words. The work is signed in plate, with festival information included beneath the image. This print is presented under glass in a black metal frame, with hanging wire affixed to the verso.
Condition
- some debris and broken glass bits under glass; glass is damaged under the edge of frame to the upper left, but it is not visible.
