Vintage Conn and Unmarked Cornets
Item Details
A silver plate Conn cornet, marked to its bell ‘C.G. Conn ’Perfected Wonder Maker’ Elkhart, Ind.’ and stamped ‘Union Label, Pat. April 2, 1907’ on its valve block, and with a Conn Model 18 mouthpiece; and an unmarked second cornet with a brushed brass finish. The unmarked cornet’s only marking appears on its valves: 115, 116 and 117, and the cornet has a Bach 7B mouthpiece. A black and brown leatherette hard case, large enough to fit both horns, is included.
Condition
- the Conn cornet;s mouthpiece and tuning slide are stuck, but all other slides move. The valves move freely and water key corks are worn; dents and tarnish to finish. The unmarked cornet’s lead pipe has been replaced; its valves move but not all slides move; bell is bent with dents and tarnish to finish.
