Item Details
An oil painting of a landscape, marked with the name ‘E. Mendenhall’ to its verso. This painterly work is rendered with a palette of blue and green, and depicts a grassy field bisected by a split-rail fence, a dark line of low hills visible in the distance. This unsigned painting is presented in a gold tone frame with a hanging wire to its verso, a light pencil notation of the attributed artist’s name to the upper right.
Condition
- fair; five-inch long abrasion to right with areas of paint loss; some accretions and smudges to surface of painting; black specks in paint at center; nicks and wear to frame.
